LET US CUSTOMIZE ONE FOR YOU!
River Excursion:
In Saltsburg, there are also three rivers - Conemaugh, Kiskiminetas
and Loyalhanna. Each river offers a distinct paddling experience, and we
offer a variety of excursions on each of the rivers that can last from one
hour to an entire day. Before we recommend a trip to your group, we will
gain an understanding of the level of experience of the participants and the
overall plans for the day. Is a picnic desired? Are scout badges being
earned? Would the group enjoy understanding the history or wildlife of the
area? Does the group want a guide?
The rivers offer strictly recreational paddling (as compared to adventure
waters such as the Youghiogheny). We safely have paddled people on
the water from ages 2 to 72. Our packages include boat rental, life jacket
and paddle usage, all vehicular transportation between Saltsburg and the
river, and paddling instruction.
Guided Water Trip:
As an alternative to river excursions, we offer a self-guided water trail on
Loyalhanna Lake - the Black Willow Water Trail. You will receive a brochure
that explains some of the many features seen along the mile-long water
trail. A map within the brochure will guide you from trail marker to trial
marker. The water trail includes interpretive signs on the river's geography
and history, as well as the abundance of local plants and wildlife. A with
the river excursions, all equipment and transportation is provided.
Adventure Paddle:
We have created an adventure trip for those with a higher level of
recreational paddling experience. Beginning in the upper elevations of
Chestnut Ridge in the Laurel Highlands, this trip passes through the gorge
of Pack Saddle Gap. Participants have said that this is the best day of
paddling ever.
Friday Night Paddle Party:
Did the workweek leave you a bit 'uninspired'? Recharge those batteries on a
serene river trip. After and hour on the water, the group takes out of the
river at a spot where you can have dinner and drinks. What more needs to be
said?
Regardless of what trip is selected, our commitment is to assist in
helping your group have the most enjoyable experience possible on our
beautiful rivers and trails.
